State Bank of Davis: Built from Local Strength, United by Purpose
State Bank of Davis was established in 1928. Built on the principles of offering the best banking and lending services and providing uncompromising customer service. For more than nine decades, the bank has remained locally owned and committed to helping individuals, families, and business owners achieve their financial goals and build stronger futures.
In 1986, with a forward vision of the future of banking, State Bank of Davis and German American State Bank merged to form Foresight Financial Group, a multi-bank holding company. The initial goal was to gain the advantages and efficiencies associated with larger financial institutions while allowing each bank to maintain its own charter, management team, Board of Directors, and community-focused identity. The concept proved successful, and Foresight Financial Group grew from its original two banks into a respected multi-bank organization dedicated to community banking. In addition to State Bank of Davis and German American State Bank, the holding company also included State Bank, Freeport, Lena State Bank, Northwest Bank of Rockford, and State Bank of Herscher.
A New Chapter: State Bank of Davis, a Division of Foresight Bank
As of May 1, 2025, State Bank of Davis proudly became a division of Foresight Bank, uniting six long-standing community banks under one name and one charter while maintaining local leadership and a strong commitment to our communities. Together, these institutions now form the largest locally headquartered and managed bank in the region, combining decades of trusted service with the technology, efficiency, and financial strength of a unified organization.
